What is Notice Period Buyout?

Notice Period Buyout is a payment made by an employee to the employer to exit employment before the contractual notice period ends.

The 26-Day Formula

Buyout = (Monthly Base Salary ÷ 26) × Buyout Days. The 26-day divisor represents the standard working days in a month per labor law conventions.

Employer Discretion

The employer is not obligated to accept NP buyout. It requires mutual agreement. This tool gives the approximate buyout amount based on your salary.

Recovery from Salary

Employers may deduct the Notice Period buyout amount from your final settlement or full and final (FnF) payout. Confirm the mode of recovery with your HR team.
